Dear Pluckin’ Strummers,

I will be out of town enjoying time with friends and family for the July 12th meeting. This is the very first time in over 3 1/2 years that I will miss a meeting. It breaks my heart but I hope you will forgive me, :-). This doesn’t necessarily mean that you all can’t go on without me. If you still want to gather please reply to this post/email. All I ask is that those who choose to gather, please donate a couple of dollars each to the church. Many thanks to Bruce and the Church for providing us with this fantastic location! If enough members respond, our dearest Alisa (who, unfortunately, also has a family commitment that day) will send out a confirmation email. If you do gather just keep it simple with quick picks from the books. Most of all have fun! I’ll see you all on the 26th of July. Keep on a’ Pluckin’ and a’ Strummin’!

June 14!

And it’s “Summer”, summertime is here! I love that song by War. I might work on that one if I can find the time. Lately I’ve been working on Sweet Home Alabama. The picking intro is a blast as well as the fairly simple solo bits. I hope to have it completed in time but I’ll bring parts if not. We can do “Freebird” also. Lol! Actually we might as well because every time I pull my ukulele out that song is always requested even though the request is meant to be sarcastic.

Have a go!
If I leave here tomorrow…….

May 24th

Thanks to all those who came to our Victoria Vox workshop meeting. There was a large turnout and several new faces present. Her show later that evening at the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena was fantastic. I was proud to see many of our “Pluckin’ Strummers” in attendance.

My new nickname after her show was Tooch “The Capo” Santucci. In Italian that translates to the boss. Ha! I held an audience supplied Chapstick across the 3rd fret of her baritone ukulele while she beautifully performed Somewhere Over The Rainbow/ What A Wonderful World.

We will revisit “Technicolor Way”, the song she taught us in her workshop, along with “Daffodil”, from her latest album “Key”. Check out her website for some freebies. victoriavox.com
