Hello Pluckin’ Strummers! Our last meeting was really something else! A huge thank you to all that attended. Let’s do it again and see if we can fill the wonderful space we have to meet. Lots of new faces attended which was truly a pleasure. Hopefully you’ll return for more ukulele playin’ and singin’ fun.
Does anyone have a decent recording device? Video would be great but just audio would be good also. I think it would be fun and maybe helpful if we post videos or audio files online.
So I simply started selecting songs and sincerely got stuck searching for suitable sonets…. Lol!
Okay, you get it, right?
Songs that begin with the letter “S”! Super!
The choices have a few new ones which we haven’t dared try before but I figured we all paid for our books so we might as well play as many songs as possible.
Please remember to visit our pages on Facebook, Meetup and the PS website. All links are listed below for your clicking pleasure. Leave a comment or suggestion and don’t forget to ‘Like’ us on Facebook. There I finally said it. Lol!
Thank you to those that brought snacks. I forgot to bring the Girl Scout cookies I bought. Was there enough coffee? We’ll make more next time.
9:00 – We had a few members show up early for extra help with the song “Jealous Of The Moon” and then for some reason we didn’t play it in the second half. We will play it this time.
There will be another 45 minute help session starting at 9am for those wanting some extra attention. Bring your questions and I’ll do my best to help. This might become a regular thing if there’s enough interest.
Let me know.
9:45 – Setup – This is a good time to sign in, get copies of the arrangements for the second half, schedule announcements, tune up, ready your materials, and prepare to have a blast.

11:10’ish – Round Two
Are we having fun with our arrangements? Song suggestions are always welcome. We mixed it up a little last time with a few songs we haven’t played in a while and I thank Mike Mitchell for that suggestion. It worked out wonderfully. We’ll do it again this meeting starting with the ones we didn’t get to.
Jealous Of The Moon
Say Something – I took some time and revamped this arrangement and now it’s perfect!
Budapest – We haven’t done this great song in quite a while. I’m busy rewriting this so it’s not four pages long plus I’ve come up with a very cool and easy tap staccato chord rhythm that will sound awesome along with the more difficult hammer-on rhythm.
Longing To Belong
Angela – (My favorite at the moment)
I’m A Believer – This song is sounding really great with all the parts coming together nicely.
Sleep On The Floor – The Lumineers (New!)
City Of Stars – (New!)
Me And Julio – We really play this well!
In Spite Of Ourselves
Be My Lover – Alice Cooper! Rock out!
I can’t wait!
12:00 – Performance Time
The performances were so great last week I look forward to hearing more. Thank you all that participated.
What was that song that TJ played?
I need to learn that one!
12:25 – We must exit promptly because there is another function beginning at 12:30 and we can not interfere with their time. Thank you for being courteous. I apologize for cutting conversations short but they can continue out front.
*Someone left a suede “Jos. A. Banks” jacket at the “Eat” diner. I’ll bring it to the next meeting.
