Meeting – Sat. Feb. 8th.
From 2ch,
I really miss playing and singing with you all. I feel incomplete here in Boston. If all goes to plan I should be able to be back with you all for the April 11th meeting
Gene,
Thank you so much for everything you’re doing for our club and fantastic members. Thanks to all the members helping out during my absence.
*Special shout out to Lee!
I miss ya man! I’ll call soon. Be well.
*HB – I miss our long ukulele discussions. I’ll call you too!

Hello fellow Pluckers and fellow Strummers,
So far 2020 is starting out as strange as any year. It’s a good time to play ukulele and let the world drift away for a few hours. This week I would like to add a performance sign up sheet along with the regular sign in sheet. We have been enjoying more performers than ever and that is a special treat for everyone. So, I’ll remind you before we start but please prepare something for us and perform your heart out.

9:00am – Free 45 minute Lesson Session
Individual instruction/question and answers and group instruction
Folsom Prison Blues – Pg. 86
In book one, the yellow book.
Again we will be learning to “Play and sing without looking at the book”. Taking time to play the song repeatedly and learn the chord changes by ear. Depending on when Lee arrives, he wanted to do a two chord instruction. So if he is early enough we’ll try to set aside time before 10am. If not we’ll learn from him in the second hour.

10:00 – Round One
Book One – Yellow
I Feel Fine – Pg. 118
I’m a Believer – Pg. 123
Love Me Do – Pg. 154
Quick Pick (as long as it’s Love Potion Number Nine)
On Broadway – Pg. 181 (It’s OK to be angry when playing this song, at least I’ve always thought so)
Raindrops – Pg. 193
Runaway – Pg. 200
Kind of a Hush – Pg. 231
Under the Boardwalk – Pg. 245

10:50 – Break Time
Now is the time to talk to me about guest teaching, quick picks and performances. Coffee and snacks! Please sign up to bring some next well and skip the dues. 2 members per meeting will suffice. Thank You!
*Remember to make the reservation at EAT!

11:05 – Guest Teaching
Quick Picks
New Arrangements

11:50 – Performance time
Remember we are all on your side. Performing is very difficult to get started at and mistakes can happen, (if you’ve ever heard me perform you know it’s true).
But, it’s all part of the process and once you get a feel for it that can be the most rewarding part of the meeting. If you need to, ask for help, support, or backup. I promise you will get it.
See you all Saturday!

12:25 – We must have exited the church by this time at the latest.
Huge thank you for the help wrapping things up at the end of the meeting.

Attn:
Let’s all head to the golf course diner. Remember, we need to call in a reservation for the big table during break time!
Los Feliz Cafe – (Eat!)
3207 Los Feliz Blvd.
Directions from the church.
Edenhurst Ave. to Los Feliz Blvd. turn left then it’s on the right before the freeway. It’s easier to go to the next street because there is a light to help make the left. Look for the “EAT” sign. Come join in on the great conversations. Sometimes we even break out a few ukuleles.

Regular Meeting Location:
Christ Church Griffith Park,
Atwater Village
3852 Edenhurst Ave.
Los Angeles, CA 90039-1642
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We ask that all able bodied individuals park on the street as the church’s parking lot is reserved for those who have trouble walking, etc. Thank you so much for your consideration.
